This 10-day northern Tanzania safari builds an unhurried route around the Great Migration. It takes in Tarangire, several nights in the Serengeti and a descent into Ngorongoro Crater.

Best time to go

July to October for northern Serengeti river crossings. We adjust lodges and routing to where the herds are on your dates.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Arusha, transfer to your lodge.
  2. Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Full day of game drives.
  3. Day 3: Tarangire to the central Serengeti. Game drives on the way.
  4. Day 4: Central Serengeti game drives, looking for lion, leopard and cheetah.
  5. Day 5: Drive to the northern Serengeti, following the migration herds.
  6. Day 6: Full day in the northern Serengeti, including time near the Mara River.
  7. Day 7: Another day in the northern Serengeti, then return toward the central region.
  8. Day 8: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with views from the crater rim.
  9. Day 9: Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive.
  10. Day 10: Return to Arusha for your onward flight.
